Double header

In baseball, a double header is two games played on the same day in the same park.

Traditionally the games would be played back-to-back, with only one admission fee charged. At the major league level, to the extent double-headers are played today they are played as "day-night" double-headers, with separate admission charged for each game, or when a game is rained out and has to be made up on the same day as a scheduled game. Today, the decision is rationally made that no one will pay to watch over six hours of baseball, in contrast with previous decades when this in fact occurred multiple times each season.
