East Lothian

East Lothian is one of Scotland's 32 local (unitary) council areas. It lies to the east of Edinburgh and Midlothian, and to the north of Borders. The administrative capital is Haddington (and it was formerly (and sometimes still) known as Haddingtonshire).

Some places of Interest

  • Aberlady Bay, a vast tidal mudflat and home to numerous species of rare birds.
  • Bass Rock, the world's largest gannet colony.
