Ecumenical Patriarch

The title Ecumenical Patriarch belongs exclusively to the Archbishop of Constantinople, (Istanbul). The Church of St. George is home to the Ecumenical Patriarchate. In 1991, Patriarch Bartholomew was elected the 270th Archbishop of Constantinople.
