Engineering is the application of scientific principles and advanced problem solving to create solutions to human needs. There are many diverse fields of engineering, including but not limited to:
- Chemical Engineering
- Civil Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Genetic Engineering
- Industrial Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Nuclear Engineering
- Computer engineering
The people who engage in engineering are typically college graduates and called engineers. A few engineering fields, most notably civil engineering, have some sort of professional certification program, but complete certification is general achieved well into the engineer's career.
