English Premier League

This is an old revision of this page, as edited by Pachyderm (Talk | contribs) at 13:33, 23 July 2007. It may differ significantly from current revision.

The Premier League (or Premiership) is the senior club league in English football[1]. It was formed in 1992, replacing the old Football League First Division, and now consists of the top 20 clubs. Each year three clubs are relegated, and three are promoted to the Premier League from the Championship. The current Premier League champions (season 2006-07) are Manchester United FC, and the league is currently sponsored by banking and finance group Barclays.
