He took of weight in 2011, but subsequently he gained some weight back (see: [[Atheism and obesity]]).  Therefore, the most logical conclusion is that PZ Myers knows how to lose weight, but his willpower is considerably weaker than that of the iron-willed Chuck Norris who doesn't put on excess weight because fat cells are so afraid of him!

Adam Kirsch wrote in ''The Daily Beast'' about Sartre:
 +
{{Cquote|Subversively, Sartre turns his piece into a rejection of precisely that type of human being, in favor of what he calls “the militant”—that is, the militant Communist, the party member. When he writes, “Rather than taking your ego from you, the Party gives it to you,” he means this as high praise: the militant extinguishes his individual personality and becomes a pure function of the class struggle. “He is never alone because he discovers himself through the others. He possesses neither depth nor secrets.” At the end of this hymn to soullessness, even Sartre himself seems to recoil: “Yet a socialist society in which future Lawrences would be radically impossible would strike me as sterile,” he confesses.
 +
 +
This tension between the demands of the revolution and the demands of the free individual continued to toss Sartre to and fro, politically speaking. After the Soviet invasion of Hungary in 1956, he writes The Ghost of Stalin, in which he condemns Stalinist crimes while still trying to extenuate them as the necessary birth pangs of socialism: “Must one give the name of socialism to this bloody monster that tears itself apart? I answer frankly: yes … we had to have that one or none at all.”
 +
 +
By 1968, the Soviet crackdown on Czechoslovakia left Sartre with no choice but to abandon his illusions about the U.S.S.R. “The Socialism That Came In From the Cold,” his essay on Czech culture under communism, is as clear-eyed an analysis as any dissident could offer. Yet even then, he condemns this socialism in the name of a potentially better one. By then, he has transferred his illusions about liberation to the Third World. In his famous introduction to Frantz Fanon’s The Wretched of the Earth, he writes with unconcealed glee about the prospect of Algerians killing their former masters, which happen to be the French. At the bottom of much of Sartre’s politics, in fact, there lies a frank enjoyment of hatred, which also expresses itself in some of his polemics against enemies and former friends. That is why We Have Only this Life to Live ends up seeming less like an inspiration than an existential warning: a great intellect alone, it shows, does not make a great man.<ref>[How Jean-Paul Sartre's Existential Angst Got the Better of Him] by Adam Kirsch, The Daily Beast, 06.28.13</ref>}}

Is militant atheism positively correlated with shortness? Is short man's syndrome a causal factor for militant atheism? How tall is the New Atheist leader PZ Myers? He doesn't look too tall here!

Questions:

1. Does science and history prove that godly, short men are assertive and loving? Was the Apostle Paul short?

2. Does science and history prove that short, atheist men are aggressive? Is militant atheism positively correlated with shortness?

3. Is short man's syndrome a causal factor for militant atheism? How tall is New Atheist leader PZ Myers? He doesn't look too tall in the picture to the right!

In 2008, The Telegragh reported concerning short men:

It is said they are prone to bouts of aggression, showing off and keeping a close eye on their wives or girlfriends at parties.

Vertically challenged men may argue that the notion of a "short man syndrome" is an unfair, inaccurate stereotype. However, scientists have now proved small men do make more jealous husbands and lovers than their taller, more relaxed counterparts.[1]

The shortsighted, militant atheist Sam Harris advocates killing people for thought crimes

Sam Harris wrote in his book The End of Faith: “Some beliefs are so dangerous that it may be ethical to kill people for believing them”.[2]

Killing people for thought crimes. Militant atheist short man's syndrome!

Atheist Dan Barker - A militant atheist with short man's syndrome?

A picture of militant atheist Dan Barker is featured here: Dan Barker and Imam Karim Abuzaid - Google image search (In the picture which features five men, Dan Barker is the short man on the furthermost left).

Please notice how much shorter Mr. Barker is than Imam Karim Abuzaid of the Colorado Muslim Society. Is Dan Barker a prime example of a militant atheist with short man's syndrome? If that is the case, then Mr. Barker should work on being less small-minded!

PZ Myers is a short-tempered, militant atheist with excess weight

See also: Atheism and anger and Atheism and obesity

PZ Myers is a militant atheist.

His language is extremely militant at times, and laced with expletives. In a short-tempered diatribe in which he described those who believe in the Bible as "lunatics" and "bigots," Myers said: "I say, screw the polite words and careful rhetoric. It's time for scientists to break out the steel-toed boots and brass knuckles, and get out there and hammer on the lunatics and idiots."[3]

Another unfortunate case of militant atheist, short man's syndrome!

Napoleon Bonaparte, a man often accused of having short man's syndrome, declared, "A soldier will fight long and hard for a bit of colored ribbon." PZ Myers vaingloriously self-appointed himself the "fifth horseman" of the New Atheist movement, but was mocked for doing so by the atheist Michael Nugent.[4][5] See also: PZ Myers' loss of influence

What is one difference between the iron-willed Christian Chuck Norris and atheist PZ Myers?

The 20% of overweight people who are able to achieve permanent weight loss typically report doing it through engaging in high levels of physical activity, eating a low-calorie, low-fat diet, eating breakfast regularly, self-monitoring weight, and maintaining a consistent eating pattern across weekdays and weekends.[6]

PZ Myers may need to decrease his computer and internet usage.[7]

According to PZ Myers, he studied neuroscience.[8] In addition, he is a biologist. He took of weight in 2011, but subsequently he gained some weight back (see: Atheism and obesity). Therefore, the most logical conclusion is that PZ Myers knows how to lose weight, but his willpower is considerably weaker than that of the iron-willed Chuck Norris who doesn't put on excess weight because fat cells are so afraid of him!

President Harry S. Truman called the 5ft 4" militant atheist Joseph Stalin "a little squirt"

The militant atheist Joseph Stalin was 5ft. 4" tall (1.63 m).[9] President Harry S. Truman, who stood 5ft 9" tall (1.75 m), described Stalin as "a little squirt".[10]

Marquis de Sade - A short, perverse and militant atheist

The perverse and cruel atheist Marquis de Sade in prison, 18th century line engraving.

The militant atheist the Marquis de Sade was 5' 3" [1.60 m] in height and he was a very militant atheist.[11] De Sade was a very aggressive and perverse man who wanted to inflict pain on others. The word sadism is derived from his name.

The Journal of Medical Ethics declared concerning the atheist and sadist Marquis de Sade:

In 1795 the Marquis de Sade published his La Philosophic dans le boudoir, in which he proposed the use of induced abortion for social reasons and as a means of population control. It is from this time that medical and social acceptance of abortion can be dated, although previously the subject had not been discussed in public in modern times. It is suggested that it was largely due to de Sade's writing that induced abortion received the impetus which resulted in its subsequent spread in western society.[12]

Marquis de Sade quote

"Imperious, choleric, irascible, extreme in everything, with a dissolute imagination the like of which has never been seen, atheistic to the point of fanaticism, there you have me in a nutshell, and kill me again or take me as I am, for I shall not change.” - Marquis de Sade[13]

Vladimir Lenin - The short and militant atheist

Vladimir Lenin

Vladimir Lenin similarly wrote: "A Marxist must be a materialist, i. e., an enemy of religion, but a dialectical materialist, i. e., one who treats the struggle against religion not in an abstract way, not on the basis of remote, purely theoretical, never varying preaching, but in a concrete way, on the basis of the class struggle which is going on in practice and is educating the masses more and better than anything else could."[14]

According to the University of Cambridge, historically, the "most notable spread of atheism was achieved through the success of the 1917 Russian Revolution, which brought the Marxist-Leninists to power."[15]

Vladimir Lenin was militant atheist with short man's syndrome

The American journalist John Reed wrote concerning Vladimir Lenin:

A short, stocky figure, with a big head set down in his shoulders, bald and bulging. Little eyes, a snubbish nose, wide, generous mouth, and heavy chin; clean-shaven now, but already beginning to bristle with the well-known beard of his past and future. Dressed in shabby clothes, his trousers much too long for him.[16]

Benito Mussolini: the little atheist dictator with big plans whose life was cut short

Benito Mussolini was a little atheist dictator with big plans, but divine providence cut his life short.

Lawrence Krauss is one of the Western World's shortest physicists

New Atheism is a form of militant atheism.

When the physicist and new atheist Lawrence Krauss took a picture with the Society of Physics Students chapter in University of Alaska, Fairbanks, he was clearly shorter than all (or nearly all) of the other men.[17]

Kim Jong Un

Business Insider indicates concerning the North Korean, atheist, dictator Kim Jong Un:

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un reportedly wears special shoes to make himself look taller...

Kim was thought to be about 5' 7", according to The Washington Post, but this new analysis of his shoes suggests he's actually closer to 5' 4".[18]

Kim Jung-Il

The North Korean dictator Kim Jung-il, a staunch atheist and adherent to Communism, was known to wear platform shoes and wear his hair in a manner that made him appear taller. Madeleine Albright, then-Secretary of State, mentioned that when he wasn't in his shoes, she stood "eye-to-eye" with him, meaning both were 5'3".[19]

Jean-Paul Sartre

Sartre, the founder of the atheistic, existentialism philosophy, was noted to be diminutive (being about 5' 0")[20].

Adam Kirsch wrote in The Daily Beast about Sartre:

Subversively, Sartre turns his piece into a rejection of precisely that type of human being, in favor of what he calls “the militant”—that is, the militant Communist, the party member.

By 1968, the Soviet crackdown on Czechoslovakia left Sartre with no choice but to abandon his illusions about the U.S.S.R. “The Socialism That Came In From the Cold,” his essay on Czech culture under communism, is as clear-eyed an analysis as any dissident could offer. Yet even then, he condemns this socialism in the name of a potentially better one. By then, he has transferred his illusions about liberation to the Third World. In his famous introduction to Frantz Fanon’s The Wretched of the Earth, he writes with unconcealed glee about the prospect of Algerians killing their former masters, which happen to be the French. At the bottom of much of Sartre’s politics, in fact, there lies a frank enjoyment of hatred, which also expresses itself in some of his polemics against enemies and former friends. That is why We Have Only this Life to Live ends up seeming less like an inspiration than an existential warning: a great intellect alone, it shows, does not make a great man.[21]

Assertive, godly, short men vs. ungodly, aggressive, short, atheist men

St. Paul defends his preaching (Artist: Giovanni Ricco). New paintings of the Apostle Paul should reflect his shortness. God uses the short men of the world mightily to humble the tall men who think they are big men on campus!

According to Lark News:

An astounding discovery may reveal the physical stature — or lack of it — of one of Christianity’s greatest advocates.

A scroll and accompanying rock drawing found during an archaeological dig in Turkey “took our breath away” with its revelation about the Apostle Paul said Anje Shroecker, head of a research team from the University of Milan.

“To put it bluntly, Paul was a midget,” Shroecker says...

“The ‘tiny Paul theory’ appears valid,” says Theodore Nadler of Union Theological Seminary. “This diminutive stature solves the riddle of Paul’s affliction that he alluded to in Second Corinthians. It also makes his traversing of the Asian continent much more impressive, though we now believe he was carried at least part of the way, which is probably why his companions tended to abandon him.”

They also speculate that Paul’s “short man’s complex” led him to persecute the church before his conversion, and that he was particularly angered by Peter and James who, the extra-biblical record suggests, stood much taller than average.[22]

Studies on religion and self-control

In the journal article Religion, self-regulation, and self-control: Associations, explanations, and implications, psychologists McCullough and Willoughby theorize that many of the positive links of religiousness with health and social behavior may be caused by religion's beneficial influences on self-control/self-regulation.[23][24] Furthermore, a 2012 Queen's University study published in Psychological Science found that religion replenishes self-control.[25][26] Also, numerous studies indicate that those who engage in regular spiritual practices have lower mortality rates.[27] [28] See also: Atheism and hedonism

Godly short men are assertive. Militant atheist men are abrasive and aggressive

There you have it. Science proves that godly, short men have self-control and are assertive while militant atheists are aggressive! We shall soon see in this essay how murderous atheist men have been in history and how Christian men tend to treat their wives better. Don't miss these pictures with captions!

There is one thing you can be sure of: John Wayne was not a militant atheist!
When is the last time you saw a militant atheist slam dunk a basketball? Never? Could the shortness of many militant atheists be the reason why there are so few militant atheists slam dunking basketballs?
Who is the man on the right side of the picture wearing green? Is he a militant atheist? If he is an militant atheist, is he lowering his head in order to make himself look more militantly atheistic than the other men in the picture?
Of course, it goes without saying the Benito Mussolini was a militant atheist with short man's syndrome.[29] No wonder why that atheist Italian dictator was so bossy!
The shorter the atheists, the more militant the atheist generally is! Shortness is a causal factor of militant atheism and you can yap like a LITTLE terrier and deny this all you want, but you're in a state of obvious denial. Get over it little man, shortness is a causal factor for militant atheism!

A short note to picayune and obviously short atheists

Some might ask: Is the taller gentleman to the right of PZ Myers in this picture an atheist? Does it really matter confused and picayune atheists? The essay is clearly titled "Militant atheism and short man's syndrome". If the taller gentleman is an atheists, odds are he is less militant than the shorter atheist PZ Myers! You see the shorter the atheists, the more militant the atheist generally is! Shortness is a causal factor of militant atheism and you can yap like a LITTLE terrier and deny this all you want, but your in a state of obvious denial. Get over it little man, shortness is a causal factor for militant atheism!

A favorite trick of deceptive militant atheist men

A favorite trick of deceptive militant atheist is the use of elevator shoes. Don't fall for it! If you suspect someone is a militant atheist, don't be afraid to ask him to remove his shoes!

New Atheism, obesity and anger

New Atheism is an atheist sect which is militant in nature. PZ Myers is an New Atheism leader who had problems with being overweight as can be seen HERE and HERE (see: Atheism and obesity).

Obesity is positively associated with neuroticism, impulsiveness, and lower self-discipline.[30]

(photo obtained from Flickr, see license agreement)

The term New Atheism, which first appeared in the November 2006 edition of Wired magazine, is frequently applied to a series of six best-selling books by five authors that appeared in the period between 2004–2008. These authors include Sam Harris, Daniel Dennett, Richard Dawkins, Victor J. Stenger and Christopher Hitchens.[31]

3 out of 5 of these atheist men have had issues with being overweight as can be seen HERE and HERE and HERE Also, as noted above PZ Myers has had problems with being overweight. In the late 1990s, Dennet had coronary artery bypass surgery (coronary artery bypass surgery reroutes blood around clogged arteries to enhance blood flow and oxygen to the heart).[32][33] As of May 2011, Richard Dawkins and Sam Harris have not publicly commented on the significant problems the New Atheism leadership has experienced in terms of overweight members.

Obesity is positively associated with impulsiveness, lower self-discipline and neuroticism.[34] In addition, many people overeat in response to negative emotions such as depression, anger, anxiety and boredom.[35][36][37] In January of 2011, CNN reported: "People unaffiliated with organized religion, atheists and agnostics also report anger toward God either in the past, or anger focused on a hypothetical image - that is, what they imagined God might be like - said lead study author Julie Exline, Case Western Reserve University psychologist."[38]

Of course, given the irrationality of atheism, it is not surprising that there are atheists who are angry at God who is morally perfect.[39] A high percentage of the founders and prominent leaders of the militant New Atheism movement have had problems with being overweight and anger may have been a causal factor in some cases (see: New Atheism leadership's problem with excess weight). Certainly anger cannot be ruled in terms of militant atheists, such as New Atheists, having problems with obesity.

Atheism and mass murder vs. a gospel of love

Atheist Sikivu Hutchinson says that atheist organizations generally focus on church/state separation and creationism issues and not on the concerns the less affluent African-American population faces.[40]

Hutchinson also mentioned that church organizations significantly help poor African-Americans.[41] See also: Atheism and uncharitablenss

See also: Atheism and mass murder

Vox Day notes concerning atheism and mass murder:

Apparently it was just an amazing coincidence that every Communist of historical note publicly declared his atheism … .there have been twenty-eight countries in world history that can be confirmed to have been ruled by regimes with avowed atheists at the helm … These twenty-eight historical regimes have been ruled by eighty-nine atheists, of whom more than half have engaged in democidal162 acts of the sort committed by Stalin and Mao …

The total body count for the ninety years between 1917 and 2007 is approximately 148 million dead at the bloody hands of fifty-two atheists, three times more than all the human beings killed by war, civil war, and individual crime in the entire twentieth century combined.

The historical record of collective atheism is thus 182,716 times worse on an annual basis than Christianity’s worst and most infamous misdeed, the Spanish Inquisition. It is not only Stalin and Mao who were so murderously inclined, they were merely the worst of the whole Hell-bound lot. For every Pol Pot whose infamous name is still spoken with horror today, there was a Mengistu, a Bierut, and a Choibalsan, godless men whose names are now forgotten everywhere but in the lands they once ruled with a red hand.

Is a 58 percent chance that an atheist leader will murder a noticeable percentage of the population over which he rules sufficient evidence that atheism does, in fact, provide a systematic influence to do bad things? If that is not deemed to be conclusive, how about the fact that the average atheist crime against humanity is 18.3 million percent worse than the very worst depredation committed by Christians, even though atheists have had less than one-twentieth the number of opportunities with which to commit them. If one considers the statistically significant size of the historical atheist set and contrasts it with the fact that not one in a thousand religious leaders have committed similarly large-scale atrocities, it is impossible to conclude otherwise, even if we do not yet understand exactly why this should be the case. Once might be an accident, even twice could be coincidence, but fifty-two incidents in ninety years reeks of causation![42]

Jesus and his apostles taught a gospel of love

Jesus Christ and his apostles taught a gospel of love.[43] For example, the New Testament teaches that a husband is to love his wife as Christ loved the church (Ephesians 5:25).

Jesus Christ and his apostles taught a gospel of love.[44] For example, the New Testament teaches that a husband is to love his wife as Christ loved the church (Ephesians 5:25).

In his article The Triumph of the Gospel of Love, Monk Themistocles (Adamopoulo) wrote:

It is generally agreed by scholars and saints that the teaching of "love" and charity represent one of the essential dimensions of the Gospel of Jesus and the Gospel of Paul. Accordingly, from the extant words and parables of Jesus many concern themselves with the message of love. For example on the Sunday of Meat Fare, from the Gospel of Matthew, we hear Jesus identifying Himself and in solidarity with the destitute, the suffering, the rejected and the oppressed, calling for and rewarding altruistic philanthropy:

"... I was hungry and you fed me, when I was thirsty you gave me drink, when I was a stranger you took me in, when naked you clothed me, when I was ill you came to my help, when in prison you visited me ... I tell you this anything you did for one of my brothers here, however humble, you did it for me." (Matt 25:35-36, 40)...

Christians undertook a great deal of almsgiving to the poor not only to fellow believers but to pagans as well. So amazed was the anti-Christian pagan emperor Julian the Apostate (361-363 AD), with the sheer benevolence and excellence of Christian philanthropy that he was forced to admit in wonder their superiority over paganism in matters of charity:

"These godless Galileans (ie. Christians) feed not only their own poor but ours: our poor lack our care" (Ep. Sozom. 5:16).[45]

The Apostle Paul preached a gospel that caused untold Christian hospitals to be built. On the other hand, atheists have a well-earned reputation for being tightfisted people who are less empathetic to others. See: Atheism and uncharitableness

Irreligion, domestic violence and short, jealous, atheist men

Research suggests that irreligiousity is a causal factor for domestic violence.[46]

The abstract for the 2007 article in the journal Violence Against Women entitled Race/Ethnicity, Religious Involvement, and Domestic Violence indicated:

The authors explored the relationship between religious involvement and intimate partner violence by analyzing data from the first wave of the National Survey of Families and Households. They found that: (a) religious involvement is correlated with reduced levels of domestic violence; (b) levels of domestic violence vary by race/ethnicity; (c) the effects of religious involvement on domestic violence vary by race/ethnicity; and (d) religious involvement, specifically church attendance, protects against domestic violence, and this protective effect is stronger for African American men and women and for Hispanic men, groups that, for a variety of reasons, experience elevated risk for this type of violence.[47]

Also, a quote from the journal article Race/Ethnicity, Religious Involvement, and Domestic Violence:

Another line of thought suggests that religious people may be less likely to perpe- trate domestic violence (Fergusson, Horwood, Kershaw, & Shannon, 1986). A 1999 study of U.S. couples found that both men and women who attend religious services regularly are less likely to commit acts of domestic violence than those who attend rarely or not at all (Ellison et al., 1999). A follow-up study identified three pathways through which religious involvement may operate; namely, increasing levels of social integration and social support, reducing the likelihood of alcohol or substance abuse, and decreasing the risk of psychological problems (Ellison & Anderson, 2001). However, even after considering such indirect effects of religion through the use of sta- tistical controls, that study found that regular religious involvement still had a protec- tive effect against the perpetration of domestic violence by both men and women (Ellison & Anderson, 2001). In addition, that study showed that evidence of such pro- tective religious effects persisted regardless of whether domestic violence was measured using data from self reports or partner reports, which makes it difficult to attribute these observed religious effects to simple social desirability or other response bias.[48]

Godly, short men have more self-control to manage their jealous temptations

As noted above, short men tend to be more jealous. Very jealous men are more apt to commit domestic violence. Via the power of the Holy Spirit, godly, short men have more self-control and control their jealous urges. They love their Christian wives and do not often fly into jealous fits of rage.

The Barna Group found that atheists and agnostics in America were more likely, than theists in America, to look upon the following behaviors as morally acceptable: illegal drug use; excessive drinking; sexual relationships outside of marriage; abortion; cohabitating with someone of opposite sex outside of marriage; obscene language; gambling; pornography and obscene sexual behavior; and engaging in homosexuality/bisexuality.[49] Given the many diseases associated with homosexuality, the biblical prohibition against homosexuality is quite arguably one of the many examples where the Bible exhibited knowledge that was ahead of its time.

A higher rate of domestic violence exists among cohabiting couples as compared with married couples[50] Atheists have lower marriage rates than theists (see: Atheism and marriage and Atheist marriages).

According to the World Health Organization, "Interpersonal violence and illicit drug use are major public health challenges that are strongly linked."[51] See also: Atheism and alcoholism

According to Science Daily:

Young Swiss men who say that they believe in God are less likely to smoke cigarettes or pot or take ecstasy pills than Swiss men of the same age group who describe themselves as atheists. Belief is a protective factor against addictive behaviour. This is the conclusion reached by a study funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation.[58]
