Two of the major risk factors for becoming obese according to the Mayo Clinic are poor dietary choices and inactivity.^[1] According to the Gallup Organization, "Very religious Americans are more likely to practice healthy behaviors than those who are moderately religious or nonreligious."^[2]

According to the Gallup Organization, "Very religious Americans are more likely to practice healthy behaviors than those who are moderately religious or nonreligious."^[3] Gallup declared concerning the study which measured the degree to which religiosity affects health practices: "Generalized linear model analysis was used to estimate marginal scores all five reported metrics after controlling for age (in years), gender, race/ethnicity, marital status, education (number of years), log of income, and region of the country."^[4]

The Gallup study gives insight into the above average health habits of the very religious and not necessarily the health habits of atheists. The reason is that the Gallup organization defines a non-religious as person where "Religion is not an important part of daily life and church/synagogue/mosque attendance occurs seldom or never. This group constitutes 29.7% of the adult population." While all atheists are non-religious, not all non-religious people are atheists. Perhaps if the atheist PZ Myers drank more Slimfast and less beer, he would have had a trimmer figure in this picture.

PZ Myers appears to have a problem with intellectual slothfulness^[5] and perhaps his slothfulness has sometimes applied to his "exercise habits" as well. As of December 26, 2010, Conservapedia is not aware of PZ Myers endorsing any exercise equipment.

Although Madalyn Murray O'Hair, founder of the American Atheists organization, was very fat, she never sang God Bless America before hockey games. And although she did manage to help ban teacher lead prayers in school, she never tried to ban soft drink vending machines in schools.

Despite the fact that the subject of history is taught quite poorly in American public schools, Madalyn Murray O'Hair is beloved by many fat atheist school children in American public schools - especially those who suffer from "Santa syndrome". Atheists children are often crushed when they find out jolly Saint Nick is a lie as can be seen HERE. Obese children strongly identify with Santa Claus and are quite upset when they find out Santa Claus is a big fat lie.

The American atheist community often pretends it is very wise and intelligent.^{[15][16] [17]} However, they have never explained why they allowed Madalyn Murray O'Hair to be the "face of atheism" for so long a period.

Question: Why did American atheists want the face of atheism to have a double chin?

Madalyn Murray O'Hair did particularly badly in her debate with Dr. Walter Martin.^[18] For example, when she claimed there were supposedly were contradictions in the Bible, Dr. Martin asked her to provide an example of one and Ms. O'Hair did not and could not offer even an alleged example of one.^[19] In addition, Ms. O'Hair did a poor job defending against the issue of atheism and mass murder.^[20]

We all know the founder of the American Atheists organization, Madalyn Murray O'Hair was fat, but the question now is "Does the The American Atheists organization continue to unsuccessfully face challenges in terms of its leadership's body weight?" Conservapedia seems to thinks so, but judge for yourself. As noted earlier, as of December of 2010, the board of directors certainly had a significant number of individuals on its board who could benefit from weight loss as can be seen HERE.

Bible believing homeschoolers vs. Godless American Atheists

I thought the American Atheists organization believes in science! Have not medical scientists and exercise scientists discovered methods to successfully lose weight? Conservapedia believes they have! Please watch this "Conservapedia on the Hour" video on GodTube: Conservapedia on the Hour. As far as the video, unlike your board of directors, there is not a single student in this group of individuals who has a significant issue with body weight! Your board's apparent lack of diligence in applying weight loss science certainly helps explain why you believe in the pseudoscience of evolution!

Suggestion to the American Atheists organization: Please watch the movie "The Battle of the Bulge" as it may be very helpful. The key to winning the "Battle of the buldge" was cut off the fuel supply line of enemy. In your case, the enemy is Satan and the supply line may be abundant supply depots of food!

(The popular Christian YouTube producer shockofgod has pointed out that although atheists often criticize the God of the Bible, atheists never criticize the devil because they don't want to criticize their father.)

New Atheism is a form of militant atheism. The term New Atheism which first appeared in the November 2006 edition of Wired magazine, is frequently applied to a series of six best-selling books by five authors that appeared in the period between 2004–2008. These authors include Sam Harris, Daniel Dennett, Richard Dawkins, Victor J. Stenger and Christopher Hitchens.^[24] The New Atheist leaders claim to be pro-science, 3 out of 5 of these atheist men have had issues with being overweight as can be seen HERE and HERE and HERE As noted earlier, PZ Myers is also a leader within the New Atheism movement and Myers has had problems with being overweight as can be seen HERE.

According to medical science, there are a significant number of physical and mental health related problems associated with being overweight. In the late 1990s, Dennet had coronary artery bypass surgery (coronary artery bypass surgery reroutes blood around clogged arteries to enhance blood flow and oxygen to the heart).^[25][26] In 2010, as noted earlier PZ Myers had health problems related to his heart.^[27]

Hippocrates was an early advocate of the health benefits of exercise and nutrition (see also: Nutritional science).^[28] On the other hand, PZ Myers and a significant amount of other New Atheism leaders, seem to lack a full appreciation of the importance of nutritional science, exercise science and the latest findings of medical science (see also Atheism and obesity}. As of May 2011, Richard Dawkins and Sam Harris have not publicly commented on the significant problems the New Atheism leadership has experienced in terms of overweight members.

New Atheists are known for their vehement advocacy of the evolutionist pseudoscience. Also, given that being overweight causes brain impairment and that Daniel Dennet has had issues with being overweight, it is ironic that Dennet's book Consciousness Explained is beloved by those who deny God in favor of a pseudoscientific naturalist philosophy of the mind.^{[29] [30][31]}
