In 2017, Aron Ra wrote to some of his fellow atheists: "...since ya'll have effectively killed what was left of the atheist movement".[3][4]

RationalWiki is a politically left-leaning website that skews towards atheism/agnosticism in terms of its worldview.
The RationalWiki website lost a huge amount of web traffic in the latter part of 2019 and throughout most the first half of 2020 (see graphics below). According to the web traffic tracking company Alexa, the website lost global market in the latter part of 2021 (see: RationalWiki and Alexa rankings). In January of 2022, SimilarWeb.com reported that the RationalWiki.org website was dropping in terms of its global ranking of web traffic (see: 2022 state of RationalWiki.org in terms of web traffic and web marketing metrics).
On May 29, 2022, one of the founders of the RationalWiki website indicated "Currently the donations we get are sparse... Recently, I was posting information about the widely forecasted red wave 2022 midterm elections in the USA at this website and at RationalWiki. I also posted information about how Donald Trump now has a higher favorability rate than Joe Biden and more Americans would like to see Trump reelected in 2024 than Joe Biden (see: Poll: Biden disapproval hits new high as more Americans say they would vote for Trump).
There was a classic 1957 WWII submarine movie The Enemy Below which featured the plot of the American Buckley-class destroyer escort USS Haynes detecting and attacking a German U-boat with hourly depth charges. After a while, the depth charges were rattling the nerves of the German U-boat crew.
It seems my "depth charges" rattled one of the crew of RationalWiki. One of their crew who goes by the username RipCityLiberal (He is an American atheist) posted material about "Escaping the imminent collapse of American democracy" because the Democrat Party is about to receive a shellacking in some upcoming elections. He is now talking about leaving the USA. I have one word to say: "Retreat!"
Specifically, on June 20, 2022, RipCityLiberal wrote: "I'm planning through escaping the country considering you know...everything horrible that's been happening. I would ideally like to go to an English speaking European country, where my politics are more aligned, or an African nation with a stable-ish government where my money can go a long way. Any suggestions?"
As much as I hate to say it, on behalf of all politically right-leaning, American users of the internet, I hereby declare total victory! Operation Enemy Below was a smashing success! Olé! Olé! Olé!

Professor Eric Kaufmann says about a graph showing the correlation between the projected growth of the Muslim propulation and the rise of right-wing nationalism in a country:

Brexit was a foreshadowing of Donald Trump being elected president in 2016. This glorious victory of the French right is a foreshadowing of Donald Trump winning the U.S. Presidency in 2024. And there will be a red wave in the 2022 U.S. midterm elections.

The U.S. Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, who was appointed by Trump, is a judge who has ruled in favor of religious liberty in his past decisions.[12] U.S. Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch, who was also nominated to the court by Trump, gave a favorable ruling in the Hobby Lobby case in respect to religious liberty.[13]
The 2022 red wave U.S. midterm elections and the reelection of Donald Trump in 2024 are going to be glorious victories and further demoralize secular leftists. See: Decline of the secular left
Many leftists/liberals were extremely upset/angry that Donald Trump won the 2016 U.S presidential race and that anger has lingered.[14][15]
At the 2018 American Atheists National Convention, the ex-president of the American Atheists organization David Silverman declared about the atheist movement post President Donald Trump's election:
