Eva Mylott

Eva Mylott (1875 Tuross Head, Australia - c. 1920 New York) was a world-famous Australian contralto opera singer.

Mylott became a protégé of Dame Nellie Melba and in 1902 she went to Europe with her to pursue an oprea career outside of Australia.

In America, in 1914, she met and married a rich businessman named John Hutton Gibson and had two children, Hutton Peter Gibson, in 1918 and Alexander Mylott Gibson. After the birth of her second child she died of postnatal complications.
