Experience is a term referring to knowledge gained by involvement in some sort of activity or process. It usually entails some practical knowledge, or "how-to" knowledge gained through trial and error, which isn't easily taught.
Example
A carpenter, during years of practicing his trade, learns to use his hands and tools precisely. While he can teach an apprentice carpentry, he cannot teach that precision.
