The Famna are a Pagan religious order open only to women, dedicated to the goddess Frya and her father, the supreme deity Wr-alda. Each member vows to:

  • 1. Abstain from meat, intoxicants, sexual activity and orgasm
  • 2. At all times wear only the tohnekka, the short white tunic
  • 3. Perform 1,200 deep knee-bends every day in devotion

The Famna were the priestesses described in the Oera Linda Book, and the modern revival of the order dates to 2001. There are currently some 400 members worldwide. The modern Famna are affiliated with the Frisian Alliance, an organisation that campaigns for independence for Friesland.
