Federalist No. 5, authored by John Jay under the pen name Publius, is the fifth of 85 essays. Titled "The Same Subject Continued: Concerning Dangers from Foreign Force and Influence", Jay concludes his discussion on foreign influence, in particular military forces. Jay takes a historical look at Great Britain and its troubles when it was divided into several distinct states.

It was published on November 10, 1787.
