Federalist No. 84

Alexander Hamilton

Federalist No. 84, authored by Alexander Hamilton under the pen name Publius, is the eighty-fourth of 85 essays. Titled "Certain General and Miscellaneous Objections to the Constitution Considered and Answered", Hamilton argues that the proposed Bill of Rights is unnecessary and perhaps even dangerous, as the English Bill of Rights of 1689 were widely believed to be in force among the British Colonies.[1]

It was published on July 16, 1788.
