The term fetus, as applied to human beings, refers to an individual in a fetal or embryonic stage of development. It is sometimes spelled 'fœtus' or 'foetus' in British English, although this is considered incorrect by the British medical community, which uses the term 'fetus'.

Is an unborn child a human being? I happen to believe it is. [1]
