Fire and brimstone
From Conservapedia
Fire and brimstone is an idiom that refers to a very severely delivered lecture, admonition, or threat, as in "The principal gave us a real fire-and-brimstone lecture on smoking in the restrooms."
Brimstone is the ancient word for sulfur, the burning of which has a very pungent and unpleasant odor. The idea of fire and brimstone is used in the Bible, to evoke images of hell. But the phrase is commonly used in common discourse.
