"Folk" music is any music that is strongly identified with a particular people or culture. In America, folk music is usually consists of simple tunes played to the accompaniment of guitar or banjo. Popular American folk performers include the Kingston Trio, Peter Paul and Mary Pete Seeger and Woody Guthrie.
