Folk music is any music that is strongly identified with a particular people or culture. In the United States, folk music is usually consists of simple tunes played to the accompaniment of guitar or banjo. Popular American folk performers include the Kingston Trio, The Weavers, Peter Paul and Mary, Pete Seeger, and Woody Guthrie.
