Ford Foundation, headquartered in New York City, is a tax-exempt 501(C)(3) organization and one of the largest foundations in the world with over $10 billion in assets.[1] The foundation was founded by the conservative automobile tycoon Henry Ford in 1936. Today it donates to thousands of organizations worldwide but has donated largely to leftist groups.
The Ford family has not been involved with the foundation since 1976 when Henry Ford II left the board of trustees in disgust in 1977. He wrote in his resignation letter:[2]

Investigation by Reece Committee
During the 82nd Congress, the Select Committee to Investigate Tax-Exempt Foundations and Comparable Organizations, known as the Cox Committee under the leadership of Georgia Democrat Edward E. Cox, failed to sufficiently conduct its job of thoroughly examining tax-exempt foundations.[4] Among the complaints made by committee member B. Carroll Reece was that it did not investigate the Ford Foundation.
Cox died in office, and Reece was the only remaining committee member who sought a re-enactment to fully accomplish the task. The 83rd Congress in 1953 re-enacted the select committee at his urging, and he became the chair; it was thus known as the Reece Committee.
The Reece Committee investigated the Ford Foundation's donations towards Alfred Kinsey,[4] a sexual revolutionary and pervert who collaborated with Nazis and pedophiles for his "research."[5] The committee's chief investigator, Norman Dodd, met with foundation head Rowan Gaither, who admitted that the organization sought to merge American society with that of the Soviet Union.[6]
Gaither also admitted that the foundation "would not think of" admitting such subversive efforts to the American people.[6]
