Fred Noonan

Frederick Joseph Noonan (April 4, 1893 – missing and presumed dead July 2, 1937)[1] was an American pilot, flight navigator, sea captain and aviation pioneer. He is best known for serving as the navigator on Amelia Earhart's attempted around-the-world flight, from which he never returned. He and Earheart were last seen in Lae, New Guinea on 2 July 1937, shortly befeore their disappearance somewhere over the Pacific Ocean. He was declared dead on June 20, 1938.[2]
