(R) signifies the officeholder belongs to the Republican Party. (D) signifies the officeholder belongs to the Democratic Party.

Note: The Lt. Governors of Alaska, Hawaii, and Utah are responsible for many of the functions usually associated with the Secretary of State.

*Arizona, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Wyoming do not elect Lt. Governors.
