Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is the third novel in the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling and was published on July 8, 1999. The book won numerous awards.

Plot

Harry believes that an escaped criminal named Sirius Black is trying to murder him. But Black ends up being innocent and Harry discovers that the person who betrayed his parents was another man named Peter Pettigrew. Black had supposedly murdered Pettigrew but Pettigrew had faked his own death and was now disguised as the pet rat, Scabbers, who belonged to Harry's friend Ron Weasley.

Movie

A film version of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, directed by Alfonso Cuarón, was released in 2004. It was nominated for two Academy Awards.[1]
