Hazrat Inayat Khan (July 5, 1882 – February 5, 1927) was the founder of Universal Sufism. He was born into a very musical family, and his grandfather Maula Bakhsh, was known as the "Beethoven of India". He himself was a musician, but gave up his career in music to become a spiritual leader.[1] [2] Though he was a Muslim, he was tolerant of all religions, and had a great respect for them all.[3]
