Henry McMaster is an attorney and politician in the United States. McMaster was born to John and Ida McMaster in Columbia, South Carolina. He is a 1969 graduate of the University of South Carolina, with a Bachelor’s Degree in history, and a 1973 graduate of USC School of Law. He was appointed by Ronald Wilson Reagan as a US Attorney for the District of South Carolina in 1981. McMaster was the chairman of the South Carolina Republican Party from 1993 to 2002. Elected on November 5, 2002, McMaster was the attorney general of South Carolina. As the SC attorney general, he was known for fighting the ACLU in their battle to censor references to Jesus Christ in town council prayers, fighting child predators, protecting consumers, and fighting the liberals' healthcare bill. He currently is the governor of South Carolina.
