Holy Island, Northumberland, north east England, is the preferred local name for the island of Lindisfarne, a tidal island off the Northumbrian coast and the spot where monastic missionaries from Iona brought Christianity to Northumbria.
Holy Island is also an island in Lamlash Bay, off the coast of Arran in Scotland.
Holy Island is also the name of an island off the coast of Anglesey in north Wales. It is connected to Anglesey by a road and rail causeway. The main town is the ferry port of Holyhead.
