Honey trapping or honey-potting is an activity by criminal organizations through the use of a seductive female mobster against a male police officer, government agent, politician, judge, lawyer, or even church official. The woman is ordered to sleep with and either blackmail, threaten, or bribe them. The criminal organizations can also use the woman to assassinate a rival mobster or man who betrayed the gang, or even to recruit a new member into the gang. There are other ways this can be done, though these are the three most common. A fictional MI6 agent named James Bond is particularly famous for being susceptible to honey trapping. Women in the books and movies who use their sexual charm to their advantage against him are known as "Bond girls".
