Hyde Park and Kenwood are two closely-linked neighborhoods on the Southside of Chicago, Illinois. Hyde Park is home to the Museum of Science and Industry, the Robie House, and the University of Chicago. Kenwood is home to the city's first public library and first synagogue.
Famous residents of the Hyde Park-Kenwood neighborhoods include Barack Obama, the Nation of Islam Black separatist leader Louis Farrakhan, terrorists William Ayers and his wife, Bernardine Dohrn. Ronald Reagan's family moved from the neighborhood when he was four years old,[1] and Milton Friedman lived there from the 1940s to the 1970s.
