Hypotension

Hypotension is abnormally low blood pressure. It is not a disease. Generally, low blood pressure is healthier than high blood pressure. However, blood pressure is generally considered too low if it falls below 90/50. Hypotension is not to be confused with its opposite, hypertension, abnormally high blood pressure.
Low blood pressure can cause dizziness and fainting or indicate serious cardiovascular, endocrine or neurological disorders. Severely low blood pressure can result in the brain and other vital organs getting lowered supplies of oxygen and nutrients, sometimes leading to a life-threatening condition called shock. [1] Hypotension can occur as a result of excessive consumption of alcohol.
