I, Robot is a 2004 film starring Will Smith. It is loosely based on a short story by Isaac Asimov. The movie is set in the future, when robots have become common. Smith plays a detective investigating a murder. He comes to believe that the murder was committed by a robot, which is considered impossible, as their programming does not allow them to harm humans.
