Ilhan Abdullahi Omar, born Ilhan Nur Said Elmi (b. 1983) is the Democrat congresswoman from Minnesota's 5th district. Omar took over the seat formally held by Antifa promoter Keith Ellison. Rep. Omar holds a seat on the coveted House Foreign Policy Committee.[1] Rep. Omar is a member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, fierce defender of political Islam, and a co-sponsor of the totalitarian Green New Deal. Omar is a die hard Russia collusion conspiracy theory dead-ender. Voted against humanitarian aid for children at the border.[2]

Omar is known for saying and tweeting offensive remarks.[3][4] She allegedly made homophobic comments directed against colleagues.[5][6] In 2012, Omar was accused of anti-Semitism after tweeting that, "Israel has hypnotized the world, may Allah awaken the people and help them see the evil doings of Israel."[7][8][9][10] She denies that the U.S. is a democracy, comparing it to Iran.[11] In January 2019, she endorsed the autocratic strongman Nicolás Maduro and shared a propaganda video from his government.[12] While opposing sanctions on Venezuela, Omar supports those sanctions on Israel.[13]

Rep. Omar is the darling of leftist media honored with the cover of Rolling Stone magazine.[14] Rep. Omar asserted that congressional support for Israel is "All about the Benjamins baby," a reference to the Ben Franklin $100 bill, implying members of congress are paid off by AIPAC. She has won praise from former Democrat Presidential candidate Grand Wizard David Duke.[15] Ilham Omar refused to condemn terrorist attacks by the fascist Antifa group on ICE facilities,[16] and has promoted the bigoted and divisive claim that all Trump supporters are "racist."[17]

Omar imported her racism, hate, and bigotry when she emigrated from Somalia in 2005.

Life

Ilhan Nur Said Elmi was born in Somalia in 1983, She, her father and four siblings fled the country in 1991 as a result of an escalating civil war. They stayed in the Dadaab refugee camps of neighboring Kenya until 1995. The unrelated Omar family, which was granted asylum in the United States, allowed Ilhan's father Nur Said, her genetic sister Sahra, and Ilhan to use false names as members of the Omar family. Ilhan’s three other siblings — under their real names — received asylum in the United Kingdom. The family was split up, and Ilhan, her father, and sister Sahra relocated to Minnesota.

Her father’s name before applying for asylum was Nur Said Elmi Mohamed. Her sister Sahra Noor’s name before applying for asylum was Sahra Nur Said Elmi. Her three siblings who were granted asylum by the United Kingdom are Leila Nur Said Elmi, Mohamed Nur Said Elmi, and Ahmed Nur Said Elmi.

Ilhan became a naturalized citizen in 2001. She moved to Fargo, North Dakota in 2009 and attended North Dakota State University for two years before returning to Minnesota.

Allegations of immigration and tax fraud

Omar's two husbands. Omar is said to have married her brother in order to gain illegal entrance into the United States.[18]

There is strong evidence to suggest that Ilhan Omar married her brother, Ahmed Nur Said Elmi to aid Elmi in obtaining U.S. citizenship. The two were married in 2009 and divorced in 2017.[19][20] Omar then married Hirsi, the father of her three children, in 2018. Omar committed tax fraud by jointly filing tax returns with Hirsi for 2014 and 2015 while she was still married to her brother. In addition, false statements made during her 2009 marriage filing and 2017 divorce proceedings constituted perjury.[21]

In a series of articles in 2018 and 2019, journalist David Steinberg argued that Omar's birth name was Ilhan Nur Said Elmi, that she fraudulently claimed membership in the Omar family to gain asylum, and that her subsequent obtaining of U.S. citizenship may have occurred under false pretenses. Some have viewed this as sufficient reason to revoke Omar's citizenship and deport her, or at the very least impeach her from Congress.[22]

Sham rebuke for racist comments

The Democratic-controlled House of Representatives, despite a massive public outcry for an official rebuke of Omar's persistent pattern of anti-Semitic statements, refused to issue a public condemnation of her comments.

The U.S. State Department defines on its website anti-Semitism as:
Making mendacious, dehumanizing, demonizing, or stereotypical allegations about Jews as such or the power of Jews as collective — such as, especially but not exclusively, the myth about a world Jewish conspiracy or of Jews controlling the media, economy, government or other societal institutions.[23]
Omar asserted that congressional support for Israel is "All about the Benjamins baby," a reference to the Ben Franklin $100 bill, implying that Congress is controlled by a Jewish lobby. In March 2019, the Democratic controlled House of Representatives, under Speaker Nancy Pelosi, refused to pass a resolution rebuking Rep. Ilhan Omar for a persistent pattern of anti-Semitic statements.[24][25]
