Infantry

Infantry are the soldiers in an army who walk or run on the battle field. In the middle-ages they wielded swords, shields, bows, crossbows, halberds, spears, pikes, and sometimes wore armor. In the late middle-ages infantry began to carry guns. Guns continued to develop and by the Second World War Infantry wielded machine guns. Modern Infantry are equipped with Kevlar armour and the most modern machine guns.
