Instagram is a social media company under the ownership of Facebook/Meta.

Like other Big Tech companies, it has engaged in censorship of views its leadership (particularly Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg) opposes.[1][2][3]

In January 2020, The Gateway Pundit reported that Instagram users were being forced to follow the Instagram account of the Joe Biden-controlled White House.[4] Instagram users reported that no matter how many times they tried to unfollow or block the Biden White House account, that account was automatically re-added by Instagram (via computer-controlled algorithims) to their lists of followed accounts, even for those that did not voluntarily add that account to their lists. Commenters on that TGP article pointed out that this was an indication of exactly how unpopular Biden (the alleged "president" who was installed to the White House on January 20, 2021 after the Democrat Party criminally seized power on his behalf through an illegal coup via massive vote fraud in the 2020 presidential election [despite losing both the Electoral College and the popular vote to the legitimate winner, incumbent President Donald Trump] and extensive collusion with the liberal media and Big Tech to cover up the crime) really is.

The mother of fallen U.S. Marine Kareem Nikoui had both her Instagram and Facebook and accounts censored after posts that were critical of Joe Biden, who botched the 2021 Afghan withdrawal leading to the unnecessary death of her son.. Nikoui, 20, was one of the 13 U.S. Marines killed in the Kabul airport suicide attack. The Gold Star mother wrote, “After I lay my son to rest you will be seeing me again! Remember I am the one who stood five inches from your face and was letting you know I would never get to hug my son again, hear his laugh and then you tried to interrupt me and give me your own sob story. You are no leader of any kind! You are a weak human being and a traitor.” The grieving mother revealed that Instagram had censored her post. Her posts were also censored by Facebook, which owns Instagram. “As soon as I posted about what happened to my son Instagram started pulling up my posts from months ago and sending me notifications that if I kept posting stuff like this that they would disable my account. Posts from months ago!”[5]
