Ipse dixit

Ipse dixit is a Latin phrase meaning, literally, "He himself said it." In legal parlance, it has come to refer to an unsupported statement or unproven assertion that rests solely on the authority of the speaker.[1][2]

Ipse dixit in Scientism

In the case of scientism and its flag ship, evolutionism, the authority of speaker and given unsupported statement or unproven assertion are euphemistically labeled as scientific community and scientific consensus, respectively.
