Jeffrey Lane Fortenberry (born December 27, 1960) is an American politician and economist serving as the U.S. Representative for Nebraska's 1st congressional district since 2005. A member of the Republican Party, his district is based in Lincoln and includes most of the eastern third of the state outside the immediate Omaha area. He is the dean of Nebraska's congressional delegation.

Tenure

He was one of thirty-five Republicans to vote for the Partisan Hack resolution calling for an Investigation on Capitol Hill.[1] On 31 March 2022 he announced his resignation. special election will be held on June 28, 2022.
