Jimmy Buffett
James William "Jimmy" Buffett (born December 25, 1946) is a singer-songwriter, movie producer, best-selling author, entreprenuer and cook. He is best known for his music that has an "island feel" to it. Buffett was born in Pascogoula, Mississippi, and was raised in Mobile, Alabama. With his Coral Reefer Band, he has performed many hit songs such as "Margaritaville" and "Cheeseburger in Paradise". Buffett also owns two restaurant chains named after these songs.[1]
Early Life
Buffett spent a part of his childhood in Mobile. He attended St. Ignatius School in grade school and participated in the school band. He later lived in Fairhope, Alabama, and graduated from the McGill Institute for Boys in 1962.
Buffett married Margie Washichek in 1969 and divorced in 1972.
Books
Buffett has topped The New York Times best-sellers' list three times, twice with his novels Tales from Margaritaville and Where is Joe Merchant, and once with his non-fiction book A Pirate Looks At Fifty.
