John C. Willke
John C. Willke is founder and President of the International Right To Life Federation, a pro-life organization supporting conservative Christian ideology. He is also co-founder of a pro-life educational trust, Life Issues Institute.
During Mitt Romney's run for the Republican Presidential nomination in October 2007, his campaign issued a statement announcing Willke's endorsement of their candidate: "Dr. Willke is a leading voice within the pro-life community", the announcement said, "and will be an important surrogate for Governor Romney's pro-life and pro-family agenda." [1] In 2011, Willke reports, the Romney campaign also held talks with him during a tour stop in Cincinnati, though Willke was given no role in the 2012 campaign.[2]
A medical doctor, Willke rejected politically motivated liberal denial of how immense stress from rape interferes with the likelihood of pregnancy. In August 2012, when Mitt Romney and other RINO Backers attempted to exploit an offhand remark to force a pro-life candidate Todd Akin out of the race for the US Senate from Missouri, Willke did not cave into the pro-abortion media. "It's time for Republican leaders to rise to the level of Rep. Akin's principle and courage and stand with him and the Republican platform that stands for the protection of every human life, " he said in an open letter.[3]
