John Walton

John Walton (b. 1738; d. 1783) was a Georgia delegate to the Continental Congress in 1778. [1]

Early Life

Born in Virginia in 1738, Walton became a planter near Augusta, Georgia. He was elected to the Provincial Congress in 1775.

Continental Congress

Walton was elected to the Continental Congress in 1778. He signed the Articles of Confederation on July 24, 1778.

Death

John Walton died at New Savannah, Georgia, in 1783.
