John Wheeler
From Conservapedia
John Wheeler was one of the greatest physicists of the 20th century, who worked on the Manhattan Project and collaborated with or taught many Nobel-Prize winning physicists. Wheeler co-wrote the most widely used textbook on gravitation and popularized many common terms in modern physics, such as the black hole.
Wheeler was repeatedly passed over for the Nobel Prize, however, because he privately supported conservative Edward Teller in his criticisms of the communist J. Robert Oppenheimer.
