Saint John the Divine is the author of Revelation, the last book of the Bible, which he wrote after seeing a series of miraculous visions while on the island of Patmos.

Traditionally John the Divine is believed to be John the Apostle with ancient writers as early as Justin Martyr saying they were one and the same. This is not known for certain.
