John Hardy Isakson (December 28, 1944 – December 19, 2021),[2] known as Johnny Isakson, was a Republican United States Senator from Georgia. He had been a member of six Senate committees that have jurisdiction over education, healthcare, transportation, the environment, ports, foreign policy, veterans' affairs, jobs and small businesses.

Impeachment coup against Donald Trump
While initially opposed to the impeachment coup against Donald Trump,[3] Isakson betrayed conservatives by later saying that Trump committed a "hard quid pro quo".[4] However, he retired from the Senate before the Senate impeachment vote, citing Parkinson's disease and other health issues.[5]
Political views
Mostly conservative throughout his tenure in Congress, Isakson has strongly opposed abortion, ObamaCare, and illegal immigration.[6]
