Jon Bruning is the Attorney General of the state of Nebraska. He is a RINO, pro-Planned Parenthood candidate who lost in a stunning upset for the Republican nomination for an open U.S. Senate seat in Nebraska in 2012. Jon Bruning's campaign spent $3.5 million, nearly ten times what was spent by the more conservative candidate who defeated him.

Bruning gave Planned Parenthood virtually everything it wanted in failing to fully defend the pro-abortion group's challenge to a state statute, resulting in an award of more than $110,000 in taxpayer money to Planned Parenthood.

Red State lists an astounding number of liberal goals supported by Bruning:[1]

  • abortion: "I think a woman should have a right to choose," Bruning declared.
  • forcing the Boy Scouts to accept homosexuals: "I believe homosexuals ... ought to be able to be Boy Scout leaders ....," Bruning said.
  • gun control: "I believe in gun control. ... Many types of handguns and ammunition, however, need to be regulated," Bruning insisted.

Leaders of the conservative movement are unanimous in opposing Bruning's nomination.

Jon Bruning was also criticized for his support of Obama's appointee Eric Holder, who has highly been criticized for how he has handled the Operation Fast and Furious scandal.[2]
