Jorge Rafael Videla (1925–2013) was the president of Argentina from 1978 to 1981. He came in power after corrupt Leftist dictator Isabel Martínez de Perón was overthrown.

Videla was a military man, appointed the de facto president of Argentina, by a military junta between 1976 and 1981, during the National Reorganization Process, to fight communism and save the country from the Marxist regime.

Videla was criticized by Henry Kissinger for killing oppositionals.[1]
