Kent is a county that covers the south east tip of England, and is the closest part of England to mainland Europe (20 miles/33 km across the Strait of Dover). Towns and cities include Maidstone, Margate, and Canterbury. Canterbury is the headquarters of the Church of England. On April 28, 2007 east Kent was struck by a magnitude 4.3 earth tremor.
The legendary birthplace of King Arthur is in Kent, as well.
