Kyrsten Lea Sinema (born July 12, 1976) is a left-wing progressive senator from the state of Arizona and a former member of the U.S. House of Representatives. She is the first openly bisexual member of Congress; unsurprisingly, she has an extremely liberal voting record. However, she did vote against a leftist attempt to include a federal minimum wage hike to $15/hr within a COVID-19 relief package in 2021,[2] using a dramatic "thumbs-down"[3] to imitate John McCain's vote in 2017 against repealing and replacing Obamacare.[4] She received praise from some conservatives,[5] but predictable leftist outrage.[6] She very narrowly defeated her opponent in the general election in November 2012,[7] and again in 2018.[8]

In 2003 Sinema summoned Code Pink and a coven of witches called Pagan Cluster to an anti-war rally.[9] Sinema said at the time she didn't care if an American joined the Taliban.[10] When questioned whether she regretted her original comments at an interview in 2018, she refused to answer directly, and instead made excuses.[11]

In 2010, Sinema called her home state Arizona “the meth lab of democracy”.[12]

Sinema has called stay-at-home mothers "leeches."[13]
