Larry Kramer

Larry Kramer (1935-2020) is an American playwright,author, and gay rights campaigner. In 1987 Kramer founded ACT-UP, a militant gay rights organization, because his "lover" died from AIDS. In December 1989, thousands of ACT-UP members disrupted Mass at St. Patrick's Cathedral, New York. They were protesting the Catholic Church's teaching against homosexual acts and abortion. Catholics alleged that sacrilege was committed during the protest. He also had some disgust for Anthony Fauci, claiming he made the AIDS problem worse. He died from pneumonia at 84 years old.
