Laurel and Hardy were a comedy duo consisting of Oliver "Babe" Hardy (1892 - 1957) and Stanley "Stan" Laurel (1890 - 1965). Laurel and Hardy's partnership at the Hal Roach studio began in 1926.
Any honor roll of comedy favorites would have to include them and also Woody Allen, Lucille Ball, Charlie Chaplin, Bill Cosby, Fernandel, W. C. Fields, Louis de Funes, Bob Hope, Buster Keaton, Harold Lloyd, the Marx Brothers, Toto and Mae West.[1]
