Lembit Opik was a Liberal Democrat Member of Parliament for the mid-Wales district of Montgomeryshire from 1997–2010. Lembit Opik was a prominent back-bench MP, famous for his concern for protecting the earth against asteroid collisions. He recently ended a relationshiop with television weather forecaster Sian Lloyd, having taken up with one of the Cheeky Girls (qv).
