The criteria for the Lemon Test was established in Lemon v. Kurtzman (1971) and it concerns a law or government action dealing with religious affairs. Such laws are constitutional as long as they aren't advancing on religion and are serving a secular purpose. They also cannot interfere with the seperation of church and state.
