Leucippus (lew sip' us)(5th century B.C.) was a Greek philosopher and scientist.
Although next to nothing is known about Leucippus, historians believe that by building off the concept of Anaximenes, he came up with the idea that all things are made up of teeny units called atoms. Therefore, Leucippus is known as the father of atomic theory.
