Lewisville is a city in Texas, a suburb of Dallas to its north.
It is one of the oldest incorporated cities among Dallas suburbs, having done so in 1925. Growth came quickly in the 1950's with the completion of Lewisville Lake (a popular recreational destination) and again in the 1970's with the completion of Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.
In the 2000's Lewisville became a popular destination for refugees of the Chin people of Burma (Myanmar), a Christian group persecuted by Muslims, Buddhists, and the ruling military junta.[1]
