"Liberal Party" is the name of some like-named political parties in a number of countries:

The British Liberal Party was powerful from the 1860s to 1920, then declined. It evolved from the Whig Party. Most members merged with Social Democratic Party (SDP) to form the Liberal Democrats in 1988.

The Liberal Party of Australia is a pro-business conservative party, founded in 1944. There was also an earlier Liberal Party during the second decade of the 20th century.

The Liberal Party of Canada is a centre left, pro-business party. There are also parties affliated with the Canadian federal liberal party in addition to autonomous parties active in the politics of the provinces of Canada.

The Democratic Party in the United States is now often referred to as "The Liberal Party".
